Every street of Samjiyon City in the DPRK is decorated with snow sculptures on the occasion of the hopeful New Year, which add to the festive mood in the ideal city of people.

The climax of snow sculpture scenery is in the centre of the city, where the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il standing in the forest of Mt Paektu and looking at the country with a bright smile on his face is erected courteously.

Snow visual decorations "For a new victory!" and "Forever with the Party Central Committee" eloquently show the will of not only the working people in the city but also all other people across the country to accelerate the dynamic advance full of confidence and with high ambition.

Some snow sculptures deeply instill into the minds of the people the iron truth of history that the eternal victory of the Korean revolution lies in glorifying the revolutionary tradition of Mt Paektu and the dreams and ideals of the people come true in this course.

The snow sculptures in Potnamu-dong represent the economic policy of our Party striving to fully satisfy the people’s material and economic demands and provide them with an affluent life.

A peculiar snow sculpture depicting the potato-growing district is on display at the Junghung Farm visited by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, catching the eyes of citizens.

The sports village in the area of Mt Paektu and the entrance to the city, too, are decorated with snow sculptures adding to the silver light scenery of Samjiyon City.
