Chusok (Harvest Moon Day) is a folk holiday of the Korean people.
From olden times they have made it natural duty and traditional customs to visit the graves of ancestors on Chusok.
On the day, they hold memorial services for their ancestors.
In the evening, they spend a pleasant time, enjoying the full moon.
They prepare holiday dishes like half-moon-shaped rice cake. Special dish of Pyongyang area for the day is nochi (a fried cake made of glutinous rice and malty powder).
In modern days Chusok serves as an occasion for our people to recollect their fallen revolutionary forerunners, comrades, parents and siblings, relatives and fellows.
