Officials and members of the women’s union of the DPRK held a meeting at the Hall of Women on Feb. 15 to celebrate the 82nd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present there were Ri Ju Myong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea and officials and members of the women’s union in Pyongyang Municipality.

Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers highly praised as a great sage of the revolution and peerless patriot Kim Jong Il who laid an eternal foundation for building a prosperous and powerful country, recording his noble life with an immortal heroic epic.

They stressed that the noble will and desire of Kim Jong Il, who devoted his whole life to building a socialist power where the people’s dreams and ideals are realized, is translating into a brilliant reality under the outstanding and tested leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

They called for conducting more brisk activities of the women’s artistic motivation teams and shock brigades at major theatres seething with the struggle to implement the Party’s resolutions, and said that all women should give birth to many children, bring them up well, fulfill their responsibility and duty in making society and families more harmonious.
