Pak Sang Son, Merited Miner
Pak Sang Son, a pit manager of the Holdong Mine, was awarded the title of Merited Miner in April this year on the occasion of the significant holiday. He felt as if he were in a dream.
He remembered his father’s request dozens of years ago.
"There are many ways in the pit, but we should go along the only way. Glorify your life following the Party as a true miner by increased production of mineral." This was the request of his father, a war veteran, who said to Pak when he became the miner, and it was the precious spiritual heritage.
Pak has worked hard keeping in mind the request as motto of his life.
He has devoted his all to the pit with loyalty to the Party.
Being aware that the pit is the trench of defending the country, he has taken the lead in difficult jobs as a platoon leader and a pit manager. He has led the miners to make innovations and feats, fulfilling the plans every year.

Now Pak is working in the pit together with his daughter who returned home after military service.
Pak Hyon Chol, Merited Builder
Pak Hyon Chol, the 3rd workteam leader of the 8th workshop of the Rungna Construction Company, is a builder of merit who has devoted his patriotic sweats to construction of the major projects for over 30 years.
When he backed home after his military service, he could not help surprising himself at the facelifted view of Pyongyang.
At that time his father who had worked in the construction field for all his life said to him that the job as a builder who increases the wealth of country is the most proud.
Thereupon he, in his twenties, succeeded to his father’s profession, builder.
He has always put his shoulders to the wheel in difficult and labor-consuming works and shadowed skilled workers to increase his skills. During those days he became a well-known innovator and versatile worker and became a workteam leader thanks to the trust of comrades and collective.
Since then, he has worked more devotedly; taken the lead in performing difficult tasks and devoted his wisdom and enthusiasm to training workteam members into versatile builders.
He and his members took part in construction of Mirae Scientists Street, Central Zoo, Natural History Museum, Ryomyong Street, Songhwa Street and Hwasong Street.
The Party and the state awarded the title of meritorious person of socialist patriotism and merited builder to Pak who had worked as builder for over 30 years.
Jon Song Jun, Merited Tractor Driver
Jon Song Jun is a merited tractor driver at the Oguk Farm, Anak County, who has devoted his pure conscience to the socialist farm for many years.
Dozens of years ago he became a driver and has devoted his all to implementing the Party’s policy on agriculture. He made strenuous efforts to raise his driving skill and repair technique as soon as possible and devoted his pure conscience to his work.
After his marriage he taught his wife driving technique at odd hours. He covered a long journey for obtaining necessary accessories and recycled many accessories to ensure normal operation of tractors of the farm. He also developed tens of technical proposals and raised the skill level of newcomers. The country awarded him the title of merited tractor driver last February.
Now, he still fulfills his duty as befits the mechanization worker in charge of the country’s granary.
