Let Us Deeply Keep in Mind Again Noble Intention of Respected General Secretary

Politics 2024.11.11.

Forest Restoration Is War with Nature

That Day when the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, he said that there was no space to step back, leaving bare mountains as they were and ardently called on the entire Party, army and all the people to turn out for a general mobilization for recovering them, deeming this campaign a war with nature as the whole country rose from the debris during the post-war reconstruction.

Forest restoration is a war with nature!

In history, there was no leader except the respected General Secretary who declared forest restoration as a war.

As the respected General Secretary personified the most lofty patriotism which no one could possess and shouldered the noble sense of responsibility for not only today but also the future of the country, he ardently called for turning the whole country regarding the forest restoration campaign as a war with nature.

The campaign is by no means a practical work for planting and tending a few trees.

It is an important political work to support the patriotic desire of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and a fierce class struggle to frustrate the enemy’s anti-socialist moves and achieve the prosperous development of the country and the prosperity of posterity, as well as the struggle to defend socialism.

His instructions that day are a powerful driving force arousing all the people across the country to the building of a socialist paradise covered with woods.

Only when all the people always cherish his noble intention and turn out as one in the work for restoring forests, the country will turn into a paradise for the people.

Criterion for Evaluating Patriotism of People

The respected General Secretary said that the forest restoration campaign can be called a criterion for evaluating the people’s patriotism.

Patriotism is not an abstract notion. It is the noble spirit of valuing even a tree in the country and devoting one’s sweat and sincerity to raising it. Patriotism grows up when a man plants even a tree and cultivates it with sincerity by his own efforts.

It is impossible to say about true patriotism with the only fact of planting trees. It can be said that one possessed of genuine patriotism when raising trees with the consciousness and passion of growing them to be a stout giant tree forming a golden and treasure mountain, and to devote all to the rising generations even if one fails to benefit from one’s generation.

Therefore, the patriotism of human being in our era expressed in the work of forest restoration is to be evaluated by how many trees were raised as gigantic trees and what sincerity was devoted to turning the mountains in the country into the golden and treasure ones.

All the work is the same, but the long-term forest restoration requires to bury patriotic sweats and sincerity in this land silently whether it is recognized or not, as the roots that give nutrients to its leaves and stems without stopping.

Everyone should become a true patriot devoting all to the forest restoration campaign, always remembering that the forest restoration campaign is a noble patriotic work for the future of the country.

The Work Must Be Carried Out Vigorously Until It Bears Fruit

Forest restoration work does not finish in a year or two but is a long-term undertaking that should be carried out year after year looking far ahead.

Therefore, success can be achieved only when we keep this work under constant control and push it forward with vigour to the end.

If we wage forest restoration work with momentary zeal or abandon it when conditions are unfavorable, we cannot carry out the Party’s plan to make the mountains and rivers of the country thick with green woods and we must direct great efforts to carrying it out dozens and hundreds of times.

When visiting the general tree nursery under construction by the Korean People’s Army in May 2015, the General Secretary said that the forest restoration work, a grim and grand nature-remaking project, should be pushed forward with vigour until it bears fruit as it is a long-term and strategic undertaking, stressing that success cannot be achieved if we conduct it like a flash in the pan, regarding it as a work that can benefit in a year and two.

To carry out persistently until it bears fruit!

Our people keenly feel through the instructions of the General Secretary that the victory of the forest restoration work lies in pushing ahead with it without a moment’s interruption.

The plan for forest restoration should never be left with figures or charts on paper.

When all the mountains are turned into golden and treasure mountains covered with woods, the grand plan of the Party to bring about eternal happiness for posterity will be translated into reality.
