Premier Kim Tok Hun Inspects Pyongyang General Hospital under Construction and Major Economic Sectors

Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected the Pyongyang General Hospital under construction and the major sectors of the national economy.

Making rounds of the construction site of the Pyongyang General Hospital, he called upon all the officials and builders to put more spurs to the construction true to the noble intention of the Party Central Committee to build a modern medical service base as early as possible and provide it to the people as a gift.

He underscored the need to reinforce the construction forces, speed up afforestation and greening and ensure the timely supply of materials, equipment and others necessary for successfully completing the project at relevant units and make substantial preparations for operation.

He visited the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and referred to the importance of power production in implementing the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party. He discussed the ways for putting the production of electricity on a stable basis at a high level and expanding the generating capacity by ensuring the normal management and accelerating technical upgrading of generating equipment and transmission and distribution system.

He held a consultative meeting with officials of the Ministry of Coal Industry on the spot to take measures to boost the production of coal for thermal power plants by intensifying the socialist patriotic movement for increased coal production, secure enough reserve coal and actively introduce efficient mining equipment and thus ensure the sure growth of coal production.

Learning about the work of the first month for implementing the Party’s resolutions at the Ministry of Railways, he stressed that officials and transport workers in the field of railway transport should preferentially ensure the freight transport for carrying out major policy tasks including the "regional development 20×10 policy" of the Party by making effective use of the existing transport capacity, and stubbornly attain the goal of modernizing railways, aware that they are in charge of the artery of the country and the pilot of the national economy.
