It is the Tree-planting Day, today, in our country.

March 14, 1952 was a historic day when President Kim Il Sung instructed to restore through a mass movement the forests destroyed by the U.S. imperialists’ brutal bombing.

With this significant day as an occasion, the first torch of forest restoration was kindled in the country and a new history of golden and treasure mountains in the era of the Workers’ Party was opened.

The Standing Committee of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly set March 14 as the Tree-planting Day of the DPRK to glorify forever the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung who kindled the first torch of forest restoration.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who carries on the ennobling patriotic will of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il aroused the whole Party, all the people and the entire army to afforestation while personally planting trees on several occasions and kindled flames of patriotism among the people.

In March 2022, the respected General Secretary planted memorial trees in the Hwasong area together with the participants in the 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the Workers’ Party of Korea and had a historic picture taken with the participants in tree-planting against the background of fir trees planted by him.

Now, our people turn all mountains across the country into golden ones and treasure ones, keeping deep in mind the patriotic will of the respected General Secretary.
