Onpho Hot-Spring

There is Onpho Hot-Spring in Kyongsong County, which is famous for its good effect on health promotion and disease treatment.

The discovery date of the hot-spring is uncertain. But they say that a lot of people have used the hot-spring since about ５００ years before.

Earlier, President Kim Il Sung instructed to arrange well the Onpho Hot-Spring area for health promotion of the people and then Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the area several times to take benevolent measures for people’s more convenient use.

The Onpho Hot-Spring area is situated in the secluded valley surrounded by mountains with thick woods. The hot-spring flows all the year round.

The Onpho Hot-Spring is registered as a natural monument.

The main ingredients of the Onpho Hot-Spring are simple silica and radon spring. It takes effects to treat chronic gastritis (hyperacid), chronic enterocolitis, chronic bronchitis, light diabetes, obesity, neuralgia, neuritis, external wound, surgical aftereffect, eczema, urticaria, automatic nerve functional disorder, etc.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un gave field guidance over the project for newly building the Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp. He stressed the need to improve conditions and treatment environment of the hot-spring area so that the people can receive hot-spring therapy while enjoying highly-civilized cultural and leisure activities.

Now the work to build the hot-spring area into a comprehensive cultural recreation and medical service base is dynamically pushed ahead with under the wise guidance of the Party.
