Bunge’s Pine at Kaesong, Living Monument

Bunge’s Pine at Kaesong is a tree more than ６００ years old. It grows on a low hillside towards the east of Kongja-dong village of Yongang-ri, Kaephung District in Kaesong Municipality.

The height of the tree is １８m, girth of its root neck ４m, girth of its breast height ５.５m and width of its crown is ２１m.

The tree has four limb branches which grow from its trunk at the height of ２m. It has a lot of branches and its crown seems like an umbrella.

Bunge’s Pine at Kaesong is the oldest one among the trees of its kind in our country and the appearance is handsome. It is a precious living monument that is of great academic and scenic significance.
