Vitality of Mass Movement for Forest Recovery

Officials and working people across the country are full of enthusiasm for turning the motherland into a socialist paradise covered with thick forests.

According to amassed data, over １０ ０００ units have been awarded the title of the Socialist Patriotic Forest in the past ten years since the title was instituted.

Ten-odd years ago, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, on his visit to the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, stressed the need to wage a dynamic mass movement such as the movement for winning the title of the Socialist Patriotic Forest and the title of Model County in Afforestation in the whole society.

True to the intention of the Party, all the people throughout the country have turned out as one in the socialist patriotic forest movement, a proud mass movement in our times.

After the title of the Socialist Patriotic Forest was instituted in Feb. ２０１５, several units including the Ponghwa Chemical Factory were awarded the title for the first time in Jan. ２０１９, and the number of units winning the title has been increased every year.

This year, too, the title of the Socialist Patriotic Forest has been awarded to hundreds of units including the Equipment Assembly Station under the Kangdong Hydroelectric Construction Complex, the Phyongsong-dong Office of Phyongsong City, the Namjong Farm under South Hwanghae Provincial Rural Economy Committee and the Kyongwon County Women’s Union Committee.

The reality of growing numbers of units winning the title is a vivid expression of vitality of mass movement for the forest recovery.
