Preparation for Farming in Honggondo Tideland Pushed Ahead with Vigorously

North Phyongan Province puts spurs to the work for increasing grain production by doing farming well in the Honggondo Tideland.

First of all, it directs great efforts to perfection of irrigation system arising as an urgent issue in tideland farming to provide enough irrigation water to fields.

For this, it organized the field survey of officials to grasp the detailed situation of irrigation waterways and fields suffering water shortage and, on the basis of it, complete the irrigation project design. It also took measures for vigorously promoting the cleaning and repair of waterways from the Tongnaegang and Maebong reservoirs to the Honggondo Tideland.

The province also pushes ahead with the construction of pumping stations and structures in a three-dimensional way.

Meanwhile, the province took foresighted measures for securing seeds and materials for tideland farming.
