Different Lives of Women Scientists in Two Systems

A lot of people marvel at the fact that Dr. and Associate Prof. Yun Son Hui is working at the Kim Man Yu Hospital as a section chief while bringing up scores of orphans from her girlhood.

In high praise of her feats of bringing up children to be honest ones for the country and the people and science research successes conducive to the prosperity of the motherland, the state put forward Yun as an owner of the modern house in Kyongru-dong.

The doctorate she received while bringing up scores of children, shows the genuine appearance of the socialist system in our country in which traits of respecting women prevail.

So, foreign women who visited our country a few years ago said:

"The DPRK’s policy on women is very good. The state lightens the burden of women through all the conditions for bringing up children at the expense of state. Therefore, the women in the DPRK can bring up their children without any worries and work to the best of their abilities.

The social status and role of the women in the DPRK raises as the days go by. The Korean women are the most proud, happy and blessed ones in the world."

The advantages of the socialist system are proved by the medals of a lot of doctresses in our country, where women are pushing one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot.

However, in the capitalist society the doctorates of women cannot be symbol of their dignity, glory, delight and happiness.

The female scientists’ choice inevitably goes with self-sacrifice in the capitalist society where women in the science research field are treated with discrimination.

It is very difficult for women scientists in the capitalist society to research science, while taking care of families and children, because there is no institutional mechanism ensuring for mothers’ rights and happiness. So, if women want to research science as men do, they have to give up families and children.

Through the appearances of women scientists in the two diametrically different systems, we can see that the genuine rights of women can be ensured only in the socialist system where the politics of respecting women and giving priority to them is pursued and the women play the role of full-fledged masters in the state and society.
