New Educational Aid System for Children with Disabilities Starts Operation
The educational sector put great efforts into the preparation for starting the operation of a new educational aid system for children with disabilities, true to the decisions of the １１th Plenary Meeting of the ８th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Relevant officials of the Ministry of Education and Party and power bodies in Pyongyang and educators of the Central Teachers Training School formed a class of children with hypacusia at Hwawon Kindergarten No.２ in Hwasong District, assigned teachers and a doctor in charge to the class and improved the curriculum to suit its conditions.
They made up multi-media presentations in line with the mind of children with disabilities, published new teaching aids for hand language and prepared hundreds of teaching tools and toys.
They perfectly prepared bed rooms and other living conditions and a bus for a weekly class of children with disabilities.
On April １, there took place the first lesson for children with disabilities from different districts in the capital city amid deep attention of officials and educators in the relevant field.
Parents of the children with disabilities were greatly moved by the new educational conditions and circumstances and expressed their gratitude to the respected General Secretary
The experience of this kindergarten from the education this year will be generalized and from next year classes for the children with disabilities will be set up in kindergartens in every province.
