Lots of Cultural Recreation Grounds Newly Built and Renovated

True to the decision of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials and working people in the relevant sectors across the country including the Ministry of Urban Management and Pyongyang Municipality are pushing ahead with the work to spruce up parks and pleasure grounds.

As a result, more than １００ parks and pleasure grounds have been built or face-lifted throughout the country as of now since last year.

The cultural recreation grounds were built on Kumran and Unha islets in the Pothong River splendidly.

On Unha Islet covering an area of over １０ ０００ square meters there was sports park fully equipped with courts of volleyball, Tennis and Badminton and other service facilities, giving delight to the people.

The landscape of Kumran Islet, which has outdoor sports grounds and was thickly with good species of trees, enhances the beauty of the capital city.

Officials and working people underwent a complete change of the city coastal park with tens of thousands of square meters area.

Those of the relevant unit built four service buildings, folk-playing grounds in several sectors, resting places, etc, to meet the aesthetic sense of the times. And they planted lawns in an area of tens of thousands of square meters with thousands of flowering plants.

A fountain park was built in the Songchon-dong area of Hoeryong City, adding pleasure to the people.

Paekun Park in Sinuiju, Namhung Children’s Park in Anju, Rasong Fountain Park in Ranam District, Chongjin City, and many other parks and pleasure grounds have been built across the country, contributing to the cultural and emotional life of the people.
