Efforts Put into Manuring and Tending Crops in Latter Half of Their Growth

True to the Party’s intention to minimize the damage by disastrous climate in the agricultural field, the officials and working people in Kangwon Province are taking positive measures to protect cropland and to manure and cultivate the crops in the latter half of their growth scientifically.

Kumgang and Kosong counties successfully completed dredging of over a hundred thousand cubic meters of river-bed, the embankment filling of over fifty-five thousand cubic meters and coating more than １４ thousand square meters of river bank with large stones.

Similar successes were made in the farms of Chonnae and Hoeyang counties.

To cope with the unfavorable weather conditions of the rainy season, the farms in Wonsan City and Cholwon County strive to increase １０００-grain weight using photosynthetic accelerants, growth accelerants and nutrients.

Kosan County is manuring and cultivating paddy rice and maize in a scientific way while taking foresighted measures to prevent damage from noxious insects.
