One October day in ２０１３, the respected General Secretary
That day the General Secretary dropped in at the e-library of the institute.
Going around the e-library, he said that it was built well asking how to run the e-library.
After listening to an official’s reply, the General Secretary said that the Central Mushroom Institute should conduct well the scientific and technological guidance for mushroom farms, too, indicating the detailed methods.
However, until then the officials did not know the reason why the General Secretary stressed the issue of sci-tech guidance.
After going round the institute, he said the industrialization of mushroom production would not be realized by building some more mushroom farms but it would be realized only when its scientific and technical guarantee is provided. He continued that we should realize the industrialization of mushroom production by dint of science and technology, not by the method of a blind man who sometimes catches the hare.
We must provide scientific and technical guarantee!
Keeping his teaching in mind, the officials deeply felt again his noble intention that we should develop national economy by dint of science and technology and to this end all the sectors and units must put the primary effort into providing the scientific and technical guarantee, regarding science and technology as lifeline.
Shortcut to Country’s Industrial Development
One day in December, ２０１４, the respected General Secretary looked round the room for education in the revolutionary history of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill.
While seeing the data exhibited at the room, he, all of a sudden, asked if its hostel had necessary books.
After being informed of it from an official, the General Secretary asked again if there was a sci-tech learning space in the mill.
The official answered that one of two libraries in the hostel had been arranged as an e-library.
Then, saying that the sci-tech learning space should be surely in the mill not replacing it by the e-library, he noted that it is an age of science and technology and therefore, the employees of the mill would be unable to handle modern facilities properly unless they improve their technical skills, as well as failing to successfully carrying out their assignments.
Adding that to make working class well-versed in science and technology is one of the important policies advanced by our Party at present and it is the shortcut to putting our country’s industry onto world level, he underlined the need to arrange and operate the sci-tech learning space particularly.
His instructions made the official, who had been content with the e-library only, feel embarrassed.
Looking up to the General Secretary, the official made a firm determination to arrange the sci-tech learning space in good order and conduct in a substantial way the work for raising the technical skills of the employees.
Story of His Visit to Ssuk Islet
On January １ in ２０１６, the respected General Secretary came to the Ssuk Islet to be present at the inauguration ceremony of the Sci-Tech Complex.
He, expressing his satisfaction at the fact the Sci-Tech Complex was built as befitted a big e-library, stressed that it is the Party’s unshakable will to propel the construction of the prosperous country by dint of science and technology.
Then he said that without the development of science and technology, we can never expect the increase of the national defence capabilities and the construction of an economic power, so he came to the Sci-Tech Complex before visiting other units including those of the People’s Army which were waiting for him.
Listening to him, the officials were impressed with his intention to bring earlier the rosy future by dint of science.
That day, they determined to run well the Sci-Tech Complex, a center for disseminating science and technology, keeping in their mind the great ambition of the respected General Secretary to open the brilliant era in which all the people advance toward a rosy future by dint of science and technology.
