Ninety Nine Meanders of Chonsang Stream

Ninety nine meanders of Chonsang Stream are situated in Sampho-ri, Yonsa County, North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.

There are high mountains rising ２ ０００m above the sea such as Pukgwanmo Peak and Mt Tojong near the Chonsang Stream.

The Chonsang Stream is also called the block stream of ninety nine meanders.

The length of ninety nine meanders of Chonsang Stream is １８km and the straight line is １６km.

The width of the block stream is ４~１８m and its depth is ３~１０m and the distance to the deepest place is over １０m.

In rainy season the stream rapidly flows with uproarious sound and big and small round stones emerge here and there in the dry season.

The curious block stream is a living monument which is of great academic significance.
