Attaching Greater Importance to Quality Rather Than Quantity
One July day in ２０１４, the respected General Secretary
After going round the room dedicated to the history of the factory, he went to the workteam for injection-molded shoes production and held a sole of man’s shoe at an injector of plastic sole.
He looked at the sole for a while to estimate the quality and rubbed it over the worktable.
The accompanying officials could not know the reason.
The respected General Secretary said that the depth of sole’s pattern seemed to be so shallow that the people wearing those shoes made with such soles would slide.
An official of the factory was flushed.
After a short while, the General Secretary warmly told the official that the depth of sole’s pattern should be different according to seasons and uses.
In fact, a lot of officials from the capital city and provinces visited the factory and discussed the issues of normalization of production and quality, but they did not discuss the issue of the depth of sole’s pattern. However, the General Secretary paid close attention to the shoe sole’s pattern neglected by everyone.
Presently the General Secretary learned about the mold of the sole’s pattern and supply of materials and said that he attaches greater importance to quality in production of shoes rather than quantity.
All the accompanying officials deeply understood the lofty intention of the great father who works heart and soul to provide our people with the best things in the world.
He Corrects Viewpoint of Officials
The respected General Secretary visited the Pyongyang Sports Goods Factory one June day in ２０１６. At that time he paid special attention to the issue of localization of equipment and raw and other materials.
He said that we should produce sports goods necessary for developing the specialized sporting techniques and making sports mass-based and part of daily concern with our own strength and technology, raw and other materials. Noting that when we increase the rate of localization, we can lower the production costs, he stressed the need to powerfully do the research work for localization of raw and other materials.
An official of the factory informed him that teachers and researchers of a university ensured ７０% of the adhesives needed for ball production with our own things.
After listening to the official’s words, the General Secretary said that the quality is important and it can be estimated as localization only when the quality of our equipment, raw and other materials satisfies the international standard. He continued that the officials should have a correct understanding of localization.
In fact, the officials of the factory had the viewpoint that our equipment, raw and other materials just mean localization.
However, the respected General Secretary corrected the wrong point of view of the officials saying that it can be estimated as localization only when the quality of our equipment, raw and other materials satisfies the international standard.
Receiving his instructions, the officials of the factory renewed their determination to fulfill their responsibilities and duties in localizing the production of sports goods.
