At that time the working class of the factory was producing lots of highly-efficient machinery by introducing profitable method for putting the production on a normal basis without using expensive metal materials for which they had long relied on import.
After acquainting himself with the situation of manufacturing the ski lift to be installed at skiing ground in the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort and looking at the newly-made potato farina producing facilities, the General Secretary taught that in the future, too, the factory should produce new modern and high-efficiency machines and equipment urgently needed by different sectors of the national economy at the highest level so as to realize home-production of machinery and equipment for updating the production processes of factories and enterprises of our country including foodstuff factories.
The General Secretary valued the mental world of the factory’s workers who struggled stubbornly overcoming all the impossibilities by their own efforts and expressed his great belief.
That day he warmly said that the Party attaches utmost importance to the factory.
Listening to his words, the officials hardened their will to record high production results by fiercely kindling the flame of self-reliance.
Seeing Even One Piece of Equipment
Once, the respected General Secretary inspected a factory.
Looking round the production site, he suddenly cast his eyes upon a piece of equipment.
It was manufactured after the respected General Secretary had inspected the factory a year before and set forth the task of modernizing it in our style, saying that the exotic equipment had some shortcomings.
An official informed him that teachers and researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology and technicians and workers of the factory pooled their wisdom and efforts to manufacture that equipment.
He expressed great satisfaction at the good performance of the equipment and wore a broad smile on his face.
Looking up to the General Secretary, the officials felt a lump in the throat as that proud success was unthinkable apart from his leadership.
That day the respected General Secretary said, full of confidence, that nothing is impossible for our working class when they make up their minds and set to work.
The officials deeply felt again that they can do more things good for the people as intended by the Party when they solve all problems relying on their own strength and technology with the firm belief in the working class.
