Every December, our people recollect with deep emotion the immortal exploits of Chairman
In the mid-１９９０s when the destiny of our country was at the crossroads of rise and fall, the Chairman markedly strengthened the nation’s defense capacity by the unique Songun politics.
The road of Songun he followed with implicit faith that the victory of revolutionary cause and the prosperity of the country depended on the arms was the one of devotion only a great patriot possessed of the most ardent love for country could tread on.
Once officials earnestly requested him not to go over Chol Pass, which was high and perilous, any longer.
The Chairman said that if the Supreme Commander hesitated for fear of the precipice and danger of the front, then who would visit the soldiers, clarifying his will to continue the journey through Chol Pass.
With such a determined will of defending the country, warm love for and trust in the soldiers the Chairman continued his field inspection of KPA units in his simple jumper.
In the journey of his continuous field inspection, there were times when he visited an islet post braving all storms and tempests and went over high and perilous way to the front, Panmumjom, Mt Osong, Heights ３５１ and １２１１.
Along with that road of Songun, our People’s Army further strengthened into an invincible revolutionary army and our republic came to shine as the world military power.
The Chairman is, indeed, an outstanding leader and peerless patriot who performed undying revolutionary exploits to be shined long in the history of the country with Songun revolutionary leadership.
