Noble Spirit of Young People
For One Child
Shortly ago, students of Phyongsong University of Medicine during their practice at the South Phyongan Provincial Infant Hospital got to know that a child in a critical condition was carried to the hospital due to an unexpected happening.
That day, the students discussed to help the medical workers bring the child back to life at any cost.
Therefore, tens of students met the medical workers of the hospital and inquired what was needed for the patient.
They earnestly said that they would devote even their flesh and blood if it was necessary for the child’s resuscitation.
The child’s parents and the medical workers were so touched by the ardent love and feelings of the students.
Thanks to their sincerity and devotion, the operation was conducted successfully.
After the operation, too, the students devoted sincerity to the patient.
They visited the patient with nutritive foodstuffs and tonics for the restoration of health.
They started the day’s work only after visiting the patient early in the morning and paid special attention lest there should be any problem in treatment and any inconvenience to the patient.
Tens of days later, the child left the hospital in good health.
Indeed, as the students were brought up under the socialist system where everyone lives in one large harmonious family, they could perform such laudable deeds for a child even though the child was a complete stranger to them.

Veteran’s Family
A young man visited the house of Kim Hong U, a war veteran living in Hwasong District, on the morning of the New Year’s Day.
He was none other than Sok Ji Song working at the Marine Science Institute of the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport.
The veteran warmly welcomed him, calling him "our grandson".
This call was short but it reflected his praise and gratitude for the ennobling mental and moral traits of a young man who respects the older generation of revolutionaries who shed their blood in the fight for the country in the days of the war boundlessly.
It was ten years ago when Sok came to know about the veteran.
Since then he hardened his will to glorify his youthful days by learning from the ennobling spirit of the forerunners.
When he received his college diploma, he visited first the veteran before his parents to share joy with him and whenever he achieved success in his work and life, he informed the veteran of it before anyone else.
That day the veteran earnestly requested Sok to do more work for the Party and the country on behalf of the former generation.
