The technical force of the Taean Heavy Machine Complex established a method of producing bearing steel with oxygen-blast furnace pig steel.
This new method of producing bearing steel is of very great significance in satisfying the demand for various kinds of bearing steel, urgently needed in different sectors of the national economy.
Officials and technicians of the complex, with the single mind to contribute to the development of the country’s economy, have made painstaking efforts to develop a bearing steel production method with oxygen-blast furnace pig iron and establish its production process. As a result a firm foundation for realizing localization of bearing steel and fully meeting the domestic demand for bearing steel was laid.
Bearing steel produced at the complex is cheaper and has a longer life span compared to the exotic one.
They Make Contribution to Increasing Production of Minerals
The Central Mining Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences has established a flotation process with pneumatic flotation machine.
The establishment of new flotation process provides a foundation for increasing the productivity by mass-processing ores.
Scientists of the institute, on the basis of having analyzed the world trend related to flotation process, strived to develop a pneumatic flotation machine capable of turning dressing plants into an energy-, land- and labour-saving ones and raising processing capability.
There were not a few knotty problems, but they determinedly conducted research work and finally succeeded in it.
The institute made a tangible contribution to maintaining and reinforcing dressing plants and increasing the production of minerals by introducing a flotation machine to various mines.
This research finding can be introduced to all dressing plants in our country irrespective of kinds of ores they produce.
Weather Forecast Put on Higher Scientific Level
The Academy of Hydro-meteorology of the State Hydro-meteorological Administration developed an integral weather forecast system with AI technology.
An integral weather forecast system raises the accuracy of weather forecast by introducing AI technology and manages all the processes in real-time including the acquisition of necessary data, the presentation of weather forecast and general display objectively and automatically.
True to the Party’s intention of increasing the accuracy of forecast about the abnormal weather conditions, scientists of the academy and members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians have conducted research activities for several years.
In those days, they discovered the ways for raising the accuracy of abnormal weather forecast with AI technology, determined indices of accuracy evaluation of forecasted items and evaluation methods, and developed a forecast generating method with the depth nerve network.
The establishment of integral weather forecast system with AI technology makes it possible to proactively contribute to protecting people’s lives and property from disastrous weather phenomena and minimize the damage to various sectors of the national economy.
They Lay Foundation for Improving Quality of Processed Wheat Products
The Foodstuff Research Institute of the Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Institution under the Ministry of Local Industry has established advanced processes of producing wheat gluten intensifier and natural preservative.
The development of wheat gluten intensifier and natural preservative based on domestic technology and raw materials made it possible to produce exclusive wheat suited for making various kinds of wheat flour foods with good taste and high quality in all regions across the country and improve maintenance safety.
Scientists of the research institute intensified research into developing gluten intensifier effective for improving the quality of wheat flour foods.
The officials and scientists determined scientific technical indices capable of increasing gluten intensity one by one by introducing original ideas.
They developed rational method of compounding new materials in close cooperation with several units including the Microbiological Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences and now speed up the preparations for regularization of production.
