Personally Operating a Tractor
One day in August, ２０２３, the respected General Secretary
Making rounds of the factory for a long time, the respected General Secretary paid great concern to the performance and quality of tractors.
When he went out of the production site, he stopped in front of the tractors standing in a row.
Feasting his eyes on them, he offered to personally try operating the tractor of the factory’s making.
When he had inspected the factory earlier in ２０１７, he had learnt about the performance and technical features of the tractors, personally operating one of them.
The officials were touched by the pains taken and efforts made by the respected General Secretary for the comprehensive mechanization of rural economy.
After personally driving the tractor, the respected General Secretary praised the transmission and steering gear got much smoother and more comfortable than before and pointed out in detail the advantages and shortcomings of the tractor.
Looking up to the respected General Secretary who attaches so much importance to the development of the country’s machine-building industry and the implementation of rural technical revolution, the officials of the factory hardened their will to carry out the fighting goals indicated by the Party by inheriting the proud traditions of the Chollima working class of the preceding generation.
Truth Taught by Him
On November ２６, ２０２３, the respected General Secretary went to the Ryongsong Machine Complex and attended the election of deputies to the provincial, city and county people’s assemblies.
Then and there, he personally voted for the candidates of the complex.
That day, the officials and working class of the complex also kept deep in their minds the truth that self-reliance is the only way out.
After learning about the production, the respected General Secretary emphasized that to produce large compressors on our own is not a simple economic and technical matter of whether to make equipment necessary for fertilizer production or not but a serious political struggle of whether to put an end to flunkyism, defeatism, mysticism about technology and proclivity to imports and intensify the Juche character of our economy or not.
Listening to his instructions, the officials called to their minds the ６th Plenary Meeting of the ８th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
At that time, the production of large compressors needed at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex was brought to issue.
The respected General Secretary entrusted the task to the working class of the Ryongsong Machine Complex, expressing conviction that they would carry out the task given by the Party like their predecessors did.
Indeed, he opted to produce the large compressors in a domestic way instead of importing them and assigned the task to the Ryongsong Machine Complex in order to teach all the people in the country the truth that self-reliance is the only way out through the production of the compressors.
That day, the respected General Secretary reaffirmed that we should make the best of our own potentials to solidify the foundations of the self-supporting national economy and that self-reliance is the only way out.
His instructions still remind us that we can defend independent dignity and achieve the comprehensive development and prosperity of socialism only when we hold high the banner of self-reliance.
