DPRK Embassy in Beijing Hosts Reception to Mark Ninth Congress of WPK

A reception was given at the DPRK embassy in Beijing on March ３１ to mark the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Present there on invitation were Li Shulei, head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, officials concerned of the Publicity Department and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the State Office for International Development and Cooperation, the People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, National Defense University and other units, foreign diplomatic envoys in China and families of Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.

Ri Ryong Nam, DPRK ambassador to China, and members of his embassy were on hand.

Speeches were made there.

Ri Ryong Nam referred to the fact that the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea invariably held in high esteem the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un at the top post of the WPK.

The grand advance of the DPRK people, being made in an immutable principle of self-sustenance and an offensive way under the leadership of the WPK Central Committee headed by the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, will widely open up a new proud era of national prosperity surpassing the past five years with the Ninth Congress of the WPK as an accelerator, he said, adding:

Our Party will continue to boost the unity and cooperation with the Chinese party in further consolidating and developing the traditional DPRK-China friendship and victoriously advancing the socialist cause, true to the noble intention of the top leaders of the two parties of the DPRK and China.

Li Shulei said that the Ninth Congress of the WPK is a great event for the WPK and the DPRK people and that Comrade Kim Jong Un’s re-election as General Secretary of the WPK is a manifestation of the Korean party, government and people’s deep trust in him.

He stressed that the Chinese side extends congratulations to the successful Ninth Congress of the WPK and hopes that the Korean party and people will steadily open up a fresh phase in accomplishing the cause of Korean-style socialism by concentrating efforts on strengthening the Party building, developing the economy and improving the people’s living standards under the guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
