Touching Stories under Socialist System

Noticeable Journal of Neighborhood Unit

Neighborhood Unit 65 of Songsin-dong No.1, Sadong District keeps a journal, whose dwellers all hold dear.

It first originated in the year when housewarming took place in Songhwa District.

At that time the people entering splendidly-built people’s ideal street were replete with great emotions and jubilation.

Looking round dwelling houses which were built impeccably lest there should be any inconvenience, the masters of the new street made a firm determination for repayment.

So the dwellers began to do good things for the country however small they may be.

In this course of repayment, a new journal appeared at the neighborhood.

A plenty of good deeds for the society and collective have been recorded in the journal and in those days the neighbors became one harmonious family.

The journal of the neighborhood gets more voluminous day by day.

Reunion with Disciples after 35 Years

A few months ago, Kim Myong Suk, a woman living in Hoesang District in Hamhung City, had an impressive reunion with her disciples on her birthday.

They were then pupils of a primary school where Kim was a teacher.

The meeting was arranged by Kim Hye Gyong, head of Unha Primary School in Sariwon City.

In fact she tried very hard to find her former teacher, who had married to an officer, for many years.

She found that her teacher was living in Hoesang-dong No. 4 in Hoesang District of Hamhung City as wife of a special class disabled soldier.

Presently she told her schoolmates about the news.

Thus the teacher could meet with her old pupils after 35 years since they had graduated.

The disciples said in chorus that they will model after the life of their teacher, who once provided an example to them as devoted educator and now is encouraging her husband to work invariably in the revolutionary spirit.

For an Employee’s Family

One day in mid-March, Kang Yong Gum, a worker of equipment repairing workshop of the Ryongdae Youth Coal Mine, was hurrying for the first aid to her husband whose illness was getting serious.

Then, unexpectedly, she was visited by the officials of her workshop. They helped her carrying the patient to the hospital and, with her, cared him all the night through.

And next day, the other members of the workshop were also involved in helping her to nurse her husband.

There could be seen a workmate who personally climbed the steep mountains for finding medicinal herbs and a mate who prepared nutritive foods good for curing her husband.

They also repaired her house and dealt with fuel problem for her.

Thanks to their sincerity, Kang’s husband could be released from the hospital after being restored to his health.

On the day of leaving the hospital, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her comrades and benevolent Party with determination to devote herself to the country.
