Family Members of War Veteran

On the auspicious April holiday, the house of Choe Pyong Man, a war veteran, in Chonggye-dong No. １, Hwasong District, was visited by lots of people from the morning.

They were the doctor in charge of the war veteran and neighbors of the neighborhood unit, who often visit the war veteran and take care of his life and health.

Looking at them offering greetings and preparing the holiday table, the war veteran looked back in deep emotion on the days during which he had formed kindred ties with them.

Then, there was a knock at the door again and a woman came in.

She was Pang Song Hui, from Neighborhood Unit No. ４ in Wasan-dong, Sosong District, who has taken care of him for over １０ years.

That day, they all spent a nice time with the family of the war veteran.

They, who are looking after the war veterans like his family members and modeling after their noble spirit, are truly praiseworthy.

Why They Visited the Branch School

Not long ago, officials from the Yodok County Public Prosecutors Office visited Inphung Branch of Inhwa Higher Technical Middle School in the county.

To the teachers who warmly greeted them, they handed over reference books they prepared according to the number of students in each grade.

They had been to the provincial seat and had secured new books there.

The teachers were touched by the heart.

They recollected with deep emotion the sincerity of the officials who had made devotions to the remodeling of the branch school and the students there.

The officials didn’t spare anything for the branch school though they were busy with their work.

They had made long journeys to secure necessary materials for the construction of the branch school and applied themselves to the remodeling project as soon as they had returned without a moment’s rest.

All the educational equipment and teaching tools were associated with such warm sincerity of theirs.

Better still, they hadn’t even neglected the issue of the reference books a teacher had mentioned casually on the school opening day.

The teachers realized the Party’s intention of sparing nothing for the rising generation looking at them, and hardened their will to train the students into solid talents who will make actual contributions to the revolution.

With Kindred Affection

One day last March, Rim Yong Sil, working at the Munphyong Smeltery, couldn’t get to sleep till late at night.

Her twin daughters would become students of higher middle school and her eldest son a third-grader at the higher middle school in a few days.

Then, the next day, the employees of the smeltery visited her with clothes, school things and shoes they had prepared for her three children.

That day, they told Rim’s children that their father was a demobilized officer who had adorned his days of military service with glory and had been faithful to his work and requested them to live like their father.

Rim felt a lump in her throat.

Though it has been several years since her husband passed away, the officials and employees of the smeltery took good care of her lest she would feel weak or difficult, giving her precious tonics and helping her do up the house.

Thanks to their warm care, she could be faithful to her work, and their love also reached her children.

Our socialist system is indeed a beautiful garden of tender feelings where everyone helps and leads each other forward.
