Anniversary of Ryongsong Machine Complex Marked in DPRK

A meeting was held in the DPRK on April １７ to mark the ８０th founding anniversary of the Ryongsong Machine Complex.

Present there were Vice-Premier of the Cabinet Ri Kyong Il, Minister of Machine-building Industry Ri Kwang Nam, Chief Secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Ri Jong Nam, and officials and employees of the complex.

Kim Yong Jin, manager of the Ryongsong Machine Complex, made a commemorative report.

The reporter referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung visited the then Ryongsong Workshop in April １９４６ and opened up a bright prospect for building a comprehensive large machine-building base and turned it into a reliable producer of custom-built equipment for the country, constantly giving field guidance at the complex.

In the whole period of his revolutionary leadership, Chairman Kim Jong Il wisely led the workers of the complex to make unprecedented innovations in the production of modern machinery and equipment and implement the Party’s policy on machine-building industry, he said.

He noted that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un put forward the workers of the complex in the vanguard of the important political struggle for proving the might of self-reliance and set forth the phased goals and tasks for turning it into a standard and model of modernization in the machine-building industry and energetically led the whole course of the project.

True to the intention of the Party, the workers of the complex and scientists and technicians successfully carried out the huge task of the first-stage reconstruction and modernization project by waging a dynamic patriotic and creation struggle under the uplifted banner of self-reliance, thus providing valuable experience and solid material and technical foundations for the economic development of the country and new progress of the machine-building industry as a whole and making a report of loyalty to the Party Central Committee, he said.

The reporter called for firmly preserving and glorifying the proud tradition of faithfully upholding the Party, the state and the socialist system with the great revolutionary upsurge in all annals of the revolution and steadily displaying the honor of the model factory and powerful enterprise for self-reliance.
