Success in Implementing Party’s Policy of Irrigation Construction

True to the Party’s policy on maintaining and reinforcing and further perfecting the country’s irrigation system, officials and shock brigade members of the waterway construction brigade completed the overhaulage of Thaechon Power Station No.５-Unjon, Jongju and Kwaksan waterway structures and the projects of Sokhwa, Aedo and Ilhae tideland waterway structures.

The project was a part of repair and restoration of irrigation systems in which nearly １００ irrigation structures had to be overhauled or newly built.

The completion of the project greatly increased the water passage capacity, which provided a major guarantee for supplying plenty of irrigation water to fields in cities and counties in North Phyongan Province and tidelands to be reclaimed.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un had seen that the construction force of the waterway construction brigade headquarters which had rendered distinguished services in major projects engage themselves in the overhaulage of Thaechon Power Station No.５-Unjon, Jongju and Kwaksan waterway structures and the tideland waterway structure projects.

The officials and shock brigade members of the brigade who embarked on the project last autumn made exertions to finish the projects in the shortest period possible.

Their spirit of advance was further elevated in the march toward the implementation of the tasks for the first year of the new five-year plan set forth by the Ninth Party Congress.

Thanks to the revolutionary enthusiasm and patriotic devotion of the officials and shock brigade members, the relevant projects were completed ahead of schedule.
