At the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee held five years ago, the respected General Secretary
Saying the idea of the devoted service for the people’s wellbeing which is set forth as the sacred one by our Party is the practical guideline and standard of behavior that call for upholding the people with unconditional service bearing the responsibility for their lives and livelihood with all dedication to their interest in practice, he stressed that the Party should go deep among the people despite hardships, become their trusty mainstay, always find itself near them to share joy and sorrow with them and devote its all to the people’s wellbeing.
All the participants in the plenary meeting supported and approved with enthusiastic applause the special order of the General Secretary reflective of his responsibility for the destiny of all the people of the country and the spirit of devoted service for them.
All of them hardened their will to faithfully uphold the leadership of the General Secretary who devotes himself for the sake of the people, regarding them as heaven.
Consultative Meeting Held Late at Night
It was one day in May ２０２２ when the state epidemic prevention system was switched over to the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system as soon as the malignant disease made inroads into our territory.
At the consultative meeting of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK held again, the respected General Secretary referred to the supply of medicines throughout the country and pointed out a series of deviations from the overall epidemic prevention work and took practical measures for correcting them immediately.
He issued an order of the chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission on immediately stabilizing the supply of medicines in Pyongyang by involving the powerful forces of the military medical field of the People’s Army. Just after ending the meeting, he visited pharmacies in Pyongyang to acquaint himself with the supply of medicines.
Seeing on TV the benevolent image of the General Secretary visiting pharmacies in Pyongyang where the malignant viruses floated just after guiding the consultative meeting, and learning in detail about the supply of medicines, our people were moved to tears.
On that unforgettable day, our people more keenly felt the ardent sincerity and boundless devotion made by the great father to protect the lives and well-being of the beloved people.
As the peerlessly great man has been making tireless efforts in the forefront of defending the people, we became able to advance more vigorously toward attaining the grandiose goal set forth at the Eighth Party Congress, braving all hardships in the way of advance.
Viewpoint on Devoted Service for People He Reminded of Once Again
The Fifth Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK specified the feasible measures to be taken in the light industrial sector to substantially promote the living standard of the people by waging a vigorous campaign for increased production on the principle of giving priority to fulfilling the demands of the people in their life.
That day the respected General Secretary attended the meeting personally carrying consumer goods and emphasized to thoroughly ensure their quality.
Then he instructed that in order to imbue our people with patriotism consumer goods of high quality should be produced in a large quantity.
Looking up to the General Secretary who cared so much for the quality of consumer goods used by the people, all the participants in the meeting realized once again what height the viewpoint on devoted service for the people should reach.
So our people, receiving quality consumer goods produced at regional-industry factories newly built under the benevolence of the Party, are full of gratitude to the motherly Party.
Issue Which Can Never Be Given Up
The respected General Secretary mapped out a gigantic operation of construction of ５０ ０００ flats in Pyongyang with bold determination and pluck to renovate the appearance of the capital city once again, though the situation at home and abroad was strained and lots of things were still in short supply during the years of the eighth term of the Party Central Committee.
The respected General Secretary gave officials in the field of economy who were trying to find a breather and make pretense of doing work under the pretext of condition and environment a stern warning against their seeds of self-protection and defeatism and solemnly declared that the construction of １０ ０００ flats in Pyongyang every year can never be given up at the Second Plenary Meeting of the ８th Congress of the Party Central Committee.
Afterwards he issued an order of the President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to complete the construction of ５０ ０００ flats in Pyongyang on the highest level through the army-people coordinated operation.
Like this, a ground-breaking ceremony for building １０ ０００ flats in Pyongyang took place in the Songsin and Songhwa areas of Sadong District in Pyongyang in March ２０２１.
Issue which can never be given up!
The respected General Secretary was so strong in his desire to provide the people with happy cradles by keeping the promise made with them that he opened up a new era of prosperity of Pyongyang through the energetic leadership.
Thanks to the wise leadership of the General Secretary who saw that the construction for solving the housing problem for the citizens of the capital city was pushed forward with, regarding it as an important state affair, the capital city of Pyongyang has been given a radical face-lift as befitting the capital city of socialist Korea in five short years.
