Precious Assets of Our Revolution

In his speech, the General Secretary noted that we have won great gains in recent years and went on:
In short, we obtained many things that are more than precious in terms of spirits, capabilities and materials. These are precious assets of our revolution which we would never have achieved if we had relied upon others and if we had received assistance from others, our truly proud assets.
Precious assets of our revolution--this reflects the fact that what put the dignity and honor of the country and people on the highest level was not any material factors or external assistance but the spirit of self-respect and the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, and immovable will of the peerlessly great man to bring about bright future by consistently holding fast to the principle of independence as the eternal banner of the struggle and lifeline.
In retrospect there were many ordeals and obstacles in the way of our struggle. However our people cherished the creed that self-reliance and self-sufficiency are the best in the course of ushering in an era of overall development with gigantic transformations and leaps forward.
Through important Party and state meetings, the respected General Secretary implanted deep in the mind of officials and people the immutable faith that the only way for achieving true prosperity of the state and creating happiness of people is to cultivate our own efforts and strengthen them.
Giving field guidance at the Ryongsong Machine Complex, Kumsong Tractor Factory and other factories, enterprises and grand construction sites, the General Secretary also aroused the people to fully displaying the spirit of self-reliance and self-exsistence.
Thanks to the faith of self-reliance and great trust and expectation bestowed by the General Secretary, all the people including our trustworthy working class, talented defence scientists and high-yielders have brought about eye-opening transformations with their own strength and technology, efforts and wisdom in the struggle for implementing Party’s policies.
The dignity and might of our country were demonstrated on the highest level, the capital city of Pyongyang has been given a face-lift year by year, modern regional-industry factories, hospitals, ideal country town and a model of modern farm village and modern livestock farming were built and the people-oriented policies steadily executed.
Great successes were made in strengthening national defence capability as well.
Indeed, all these successes are precious assets of our revolution which can not be compared with anything in the world, our truly proud assets.
