Founding Anniversary of Chongnyon Jonwi Marked in DPRK

A meeting took place at the Central Youth Hall on Monday to mark the ８０th founding anniversary of the newspaper Chongnyon Jonwi.

Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials, journalists, editors and employees of the Chongnyon Jonwi, and officials of the youth league and youth and students in Pyongyang.

Choe Sun Chol, editor-in-chief of the Chongnyon Jonwi, made a report.

The reporter said that President Kim Il Sung proclaimed the founding of the Juche-oriented youth organization before the world after the liberation of the country, adding: The President saw to it that the youth newspaper was founded, and wisely led it to fulfill its honorable mission as a revolutionary newspaper making a tangible contribution to the education of young people.

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the newspaper office several times to indicate important issues arising in properly preserving the characteristics of the newspaper and showed deep care for it to serve as a powerful educator and a bugler of advance contributing to the training of a large contingent of young vanguard who takes the lead in supporting the cause of the Party, the reporter noted.

He referred to the fact that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has energetically guided the newspaper to conduct the ideological education among the young people in a more offensive and fresh way in conformity with its mission and characteristics as the organ of the youth league.

He called upon all officials, journalists, editors and employees to make positive contributions to training the patriotic young people fully displaying the spirit and mettle of the Korean youth in the gigantic struggle for creation to more dynamically usher in the era of comprehensive national prosperity, true to the idea and leadership of the great Party Central Committee.
