2026 Spring National Sports Festival Closes in DPRK
The finals of the Inter-provincial Mass Sports Contest-２０２６ and a closing ceremony of the ２０２６ Spring National Sports Festival took place at the
Present there were Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission who is vice-chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Choe Chang Hak, first vice department director of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea, members of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials concerned, sportspersons, participants in the inter-provincial mass sports contest and Pyongyangites.
There were the finals of the Inter-provincial Mass Sports Contest-２０２６.
The players fully displayed their skill they have cultivated through mass sports activities.
In the final of tug of war, the Pyongyang municipal team beat the North Phyongan provincial team.
At the awarding ceremony, the standings in events of the ２０２６ Spring National Sports Festival and the total standings in the Inter-provincial Mass Sports Contest-２０２６ were announced and rotating trophy cups, medals and prizes conferred on the successful teams and players.
Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, declared the ２０２６ Spring National Sports Festival close.
In the festival, ３０ players set new national records in various events as weightlifting, shooting and track-and-field. Pyongyang Municipality took the first place in total standings of the Inter-provincial Mass Sports Contest-２０２６.
