One day in July ２０２４, the respected Comrade General Secretary
Discussed in the tent with a view of the large tourist area alongside the coastline were practical issues for making full preparations for opening the tourist area according to the decisions of the １９th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the ８th Party Central Committee.
Underlining the importance of the proper preparations for running the tourist area, the respected Comrade General Secretary noted that it was as important as to build the tourist area nicely to operate it in a flawless way.
He indicated detailed orientations for promoting the preparations in earnest and took necessary measures.
He stressed the need to augment and develop tourism on a long-term basis relying on the experience gained in the construction of the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area.
He emphasized that as our country is bounded by sea on its eastern and western sides and has many scenic spots on its eastern coast, including Mt Kumgang, Mt Chilbo, Majon, Kumya, Riwon and Yombunjin, it is needed to steadily implement the policy of concentrating on making rational use of the abundant coastal resources of tourism. And he called for taking long-term steps to exploit in a unique manner the resources of coastal tourism for sports, leisure activities and marine sightseeing.
Indeed, the meaningful tent meeting heralded the future of paradise when the waves of happiness to rise in the coastal tourist area will stretch far and wide across the country.
Bright Blueprint He Unfolded on the Spot
In July ２０２４, the respected Comrade General Secretary guided the construction of Samjiyon City on the spot and unfolded a bright blueprint for the creation of people’s new civilization.
Touring the city, he set forth important tasks for renovating it into a fresher and more innovative city of civilization in the light of daily-growing requirements of today’s reality.
Looking up to him, the officials kept in their minds his great efforts.
Saying that the grand nature of the Mt Paektu area consisting of mountains and primeval forests is our precious resource, of which we can feel proud, he gave important instructions for building a tourist resort in the world-famous Mt Paektu for our people and the world people and making tourism a major driving force of the development of the region.
Highlighting the need to develop mountain tourism into a highly promising industry in conformity with the natural and geographical features of the country, in which the mountain areas account for almost ８０ percent of the whole territory, he stressed that at the same time it is important to perfect legal and institutional mechanisms for protecting nature and the environment.
The officials could picture to themselves the dazzling view of the tourist resort on Mt Paektu.
Thanks to the great care of the respected Comrade General Secretary who unfolds bright blueprints for the prosperous future of the country, a rosy future is in store for us.
Important Component of People-oriented Policies
In March ２０２５, the respected Comrade General Secretary gave field guidance over the project for newly building the Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp.
The officials were full of excitement, looking up to him who traveled a long distance again to completely rebuild the holiday camp with a history of nearly ８０ years into a comprehensive base for cultural recreation and treatment service for the people and another proud creation demonstrating the aspect of regional development.
After pointing out major tasks arising in the project for newly building the holiday camp and its management and operation in the future, he earnestly taught that it is an important component of the people-oriented policies of our Party and government and a responsible undertaking to provide the working people with excellent treatment and recuperation facilities and more advanced service conditions for their maximum convenience.
It is the intention of our Party to build modern holiday resorts and sanatoriums for the people, which blend well with the beautiful natural scenery, in famous mountains and scenic spots of the country and furnish them with a larger number of comprehensive service facilities so that they can fully enjoy the entities of civilization and promote their health thanks to the benefits of the advantageous socialist policy, and thus make those facilities serve as bases for cultural progress and result in a steady improvement of the life of the working masses, he added.
Bases for new life and new civilization are presenting themselves in different places of the country thanks to the noble will of the respected General Secretary to steadily intensify our Party’s people-oriented policies and further expand the spheres and spaces of diverse cultural life on a nationwide scale.
