Our Party Respects War Veterans as Models of Great Korean People
We have solemnly celebrated the ７３rd anniversary of war victory, the symbol of the heroism and invincibility of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Thanks to him, who puts all the war veterans on the acme of glory and happiness and repeatedly bestows ever-growing love and benevolence upon them, the immortal feats and merits performed by the victorious wartime generation are shining ever brilliantly.
The war veterans clearly showed what surprising miracles can be wrought by simple and ordinary people who stake their own lives to defend their things.
The true personality and noble qualities unique to our war veterans lie in that they defended the dignity and honor, territory and sovereignty of the country at the cost of their blood and, better still, have devoted themselves to the country invariably and unselfishly, faithfully and uprightly throughout their lives to show the example of patriotic life to the rising generations.
The respected Comrade General Secretary puts them forward as the proud heroes, true patriots, the most valuable treasures of the country and models of the great indefatigable Koreans who safeguarded the Party and revolution, the country and the people sacrificing their youth and lives.
We still remember the touching scene of July, ２０１２’s celebrations of the V-Day.
The respected Comrade General Secretary saw that July ２７ of that year, the first V-Day celebrated in the new era of the Juche revolution, was observed with splendor as a grand festival to be etched in the history of the country.
He specially invited the war veterans to the celebrations, had souvenir photos taken with them and watched the performance in celebration of the V-Day with them.
That year’s celebration events of the V-Day convey a touching story.
Stressing the need to celebrate July ２７ as a holiday of victors, the respected Comrade General Secretary instructed to make it a tradition to invite the war-veteran delegates to Pyongyang every year and celebrate the V-day with grandeur.

Indeed, the touching stories about those days were never to be found anywhere else in the world.
The respected Comrade General Secretary gives so much prominence to our victorious wartime generation not only to let the war veterans cherish pride and self-respect of victors amid the unanimous respect and affection, noble tribute and warm congratulations from the people throughout the country even at their advanced ages but also to add eternal luster to their feats and let the rising generation firmly carry forward the heroic fighting spirit of the victorious wartime generation.
On the V-Day every year, the respected Comrade General Secretary makes endless devotions and tireless efforts for the eternal inheritance of the great tradition of victory.
Two years ago, on the occasion of the ７１st anniversary of war victory, he organized a meeting with the victorious wartime generation so that all the people and service personnel would fortify their indomitable faith and fighting zeal for adding eternal glory to the sacred history and tradition of victory.
It was the most important of all the state affairs which was attached the greatest importance by our Party and state and which required thorough implementation to make the spirit of defending the country cherished by the victorious wartime generation who won such great and honorable victory and performed miracles be handed down hereditarily.
Thus, a meeting with the victorious wartime generation was held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium with splendor on the occasion of the ７１st anniversary of war victory on July ２７, ２０２４.
The meeting served as an occasion which hardened the sense of mission of successors to reliably carry forward the spirit of defending the country and the victorious tradition in the hearts of all the people and service personnel.
Thanks to the respected Comrade General Secretary, the life of our veterans will shine forever at the meridian of priceless glory and happiness along with the precious name of models of great Koreans.
