Recollecting His Noble Intention Associated with Sci-Tech Complex

Today the Sci-Tech Complex makes great contributions to training lots of working people, youth and schoolchildren as intelligent workers and future talents while fully performing its mission as a great seat of learning for our people and a hub of the dissemination of the latest science.

Seeing this proud reality, I am filled with great emotions as I recollect the peerlessly great man’s noble intention associated with the complex.

On October 27, 2015, I, who was working as vice-president of the complex, got honoured to meet the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un who visited the completed Sci-Tech Complex.

The respected Comrade General Secretary, in order to glorify our country as a sci-tech power and a talented power, personally initiated the construction of the complex and left sacred traces of leadership at the rugged construction site despite cold weather.

Looking round various parts of the complex, he reached the pierced hall on the fourth floor. A shadow passed over his face when he saw the seats arranged at the hall.

He said that it was not suitable to have the seats arranged at the hall serve the purpose of reading books and that they should be arranged in such a way to enable people to get access to data through computers. Then he inquired about the total number of seats.

Immediately he took a benevolent measure to provide lots of computers equivalent to the number of seats.

At the e-reading room, he personally opened a video with a mouse click.

Seeing through the shortcomings of the media player program, he taught in detail to add a new function to the program.

Saying that we built the Sci-Tech Complex despite the difficult conditions of the country and it is not that we built the complex for surplus manpower and materials, the respected Comrade General Secretary added that the Sci-Tech Complex reflected our Party’s determination and will to carry forward the revolution on the strength of science and technology.

He continued:

To march towards the future by advancing the revolution, everyone should learn science and technology; and to this end, they should come to the Sci-Tech Complex. The Sci-Tech Complex can be likened to a ticket office which sells tickets to the future.

His instruction clearly shows the meaning of the Sci-Tech Complex.

Indeed, the respected Comrade General Secretary continues his energetic field guidance to turn our country into the best paradise which prospers and makes leaps forward by dint of science.

I will fulfill my responsibility and duty on the road of upholding our Party’s plan on building a sci-tech power, a talent power, always remembering the glory of that day.

Ha Jong Bok, President of the Sci-Tech Complex
