Thriving Orchard Pulsating with New Vigor

The Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm is a thriving orchard associated with the painstaking efforts of the peerlessly great men who devoted all their efforts to providing our people with more affluent life.

In August ten years ago, so satisfied at the fact that the farm reaped a bumper fruit harvest, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the farm despite the parching heat.

The respected General Secretary said that the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm is the one Chairman Kim Jong Il left for the people as a patriotic legacy, adding that the officials and working people of the farm should always remember the devoted efforts made by the Chairman to provide the people with a sufficient quantity of fresh fruits in all seasons and boost the production of fruits every year and thus glorify his immortal exploits forever and remain true to the noble sense of obligation towards him.

Upholding his instructions, the farm set an innovative goal of ensuring the per-hectare yield and quality of fruits at a high level in spite of the continuous disastrous climate and exerted strenuous efforts to this end.

This year alone, the farm made millions of bags for covering every fruit and directed greater efforts into spraying agricultural chemicals on a scientific basis.

The rate of actual fruit yield of the farm has remarkably increased as compared to that of the previous years, thus winning great popularity among the service workers of commercial service units in Pyongyang and its residents.

It is the ardent wish of all the officials and working people of the farm to have the respected General Secretary again in the thriving orchard as they did ten years ago when they reaped an unprecedentedly bumper fruit harvest and present him with great pleasure and satisfaction.

They made continuous innovations in an effort to thoroughly implement the instructions the respected General Secretary gave when he visited the farm and, in that course, they achieved proud successes.

In recent years, the farm has produced one million young fruit trees every year, established a system for monitoring harmful insects at a higher level and was highly appreciated in socialist emulation of pomiculture sector on various occasions.

Last year alone, the farm conducted the rotation of hundreds of hectares of fruit trees and applied self-sufficing manure twice the quantity of the previous year on the whole area of the orchard, thus overfulfilling the fruit production plan by １２５ percent.
