For Development of Country’s Education

On the Day When He Visited Machines and Equipment Exhibition Venue

We still remember the venue of machines and equipment exhibition held in May ten years ago where the machines presented by the heroic working class to the Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea as gifts of faithful labor lined up.

Looking round the numberless machines made by our own efforts, with our own technology and our materials in great delight, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un repeatedly expressed satisfaction.

Then he noted that the visit to the exhibition venue convinced him once again that self-reliance is the best.

That day, the respected General Secretary had a look at the textbooks displayed in a lobby without a moment’s rest.

The officials admired at the textbooks to be used by kindergarten children and pupils and students.

The respected General Secretary gladly said that the textbooks for kindergarten children and primary school pupils and reference books for children’s intellectual enlightenment were made so nicely and that the covers of the textbooks were designed to suit the children’s feelings.

After looking at the textbooks for university students, too, the respected General Secretary taught that it is our Party’s intention to make ours a country of education and what is important in doing so is to let our children and students use the schoolbags, textbooks and notebooks made on our own.

It is imperative to produce lots of high-quality textbooks for our children and students and pay due attention to this undertaking as textbooks are very important in education, he stressed.

This story conveys the noble intention and devotion of the respected General Secretary who cares so much to provide our rising generation with better conditions and environment for education.

Criterion for Evaluating Work in Region

One day in September 2020, the respected General Secretary visited the Kangbuk-ri seat village of Kumchon County.

That day, he looked around the village in delight, stressed the need to reduce the gap between towns and farms as much as possible and gave precious instructions as to education.

He said it is important to conduct the work for increasing the rank of model ris in cities and counties on a Party-wide scale and further augment this undertaking to wage a campaign for creating exemplary counties.

He clarified that an exemplary county is a county where all the working people are fully equipped with the revolutionary ideology of our Party and the overall work including education progresses smoothly.

Noting that it is not sufficient to evaluate a county only with the conditions for dietary life and housing, the respected General Secretary affirmed his stand not to acknowledge the county, no matter how distinguished it is in farming, without fine schools and educational facilities.

Keeping his teachings word by word in their minds, the officials recollected the instruction given one July.

At that time, the respected General Secretary underlined the importance of establishing a climate of prioritizing education in provinces and taught that education should be an important criterion in evaluating a province.

His instructions are pulsating with his firm will to let all the provinces, cities and counties pay due attention to education and channel great efforts into building educational facilities, thus raising the overall education of the country on a new high and successfully guaranteeing the future of the country.
