Famous Orchestra Conductor Ho Jae Bok

There is the famous conductor Ho Jae Bok among the talented artistes.

He had an extraordinary interest in the art and talents from his early days and he was famous as a musical wonder, but he had to live in sorrow of a child of wandering people under the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists.

Ho Jae Bok could cultivate his artistic talent in the embrace of the liberated country.

President Kim Il Sung summoned him to a base for training artistic talents and saw to it that he studied in a foreign country during the fierce Fatherland Liberation War.

When he returned home the President saw him conducting on a stage and blessed his future praising him as a graceful conductor.

Thanks to the President’s special love and trust, Ho Jae Bok began to distinguish himself from his twenties and was honored to be People’s Artiste early in his thirties.

Later, Chairman Kim Jong Il entrusted him with a duty as conductor, vice-head and head of the Mansudae Art Troupe.

During the days, Ho Jae Bok deeply felt about our people’s thoughts, feelings and aspiration and kept in mind the valuable truth that one cannot create genuine art for the revolution and people with one’s talent only.

He often said that he would be faithful to the Party and the leader to the last in any difficulties.

Ho Jae Bok, who regarded the Party’s policy on literature and art as guideline in music and art creation, devoted his wisdom and zeal to the creation of many pieces like the music and dance tale "Song of Paradise".

He made a great contribution to fully displaying the might of Juche art through positive performances in foreign countries.

In August the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un in his letter of congratulations to the creative workers and artistes of the National Symphony Orchestra greeting the occasion of its ８０th founding anniversary said that Comrade Ho Jae Bok and other talented conductors and instrumentalists of the orchestra made a contribution to cultivating the rich flower garden of the Juche-oriented art with unflagging passion and their images still remain implanted in the eyes of our people and serve as a model of worthwhile life of the revolutionary men of art and literature who sang of their motherland throughout their lives.

Under the benevolent loving care of the peerlessly great men Ho Jae Bok is still remembered by our people as a talented conductor.
