Not long ago, the ２０th National Ssirum (Korean Wrestling) Tournament for Grand Bull Prize was held with splendor at the Korean wrestling ground of the picturesque Rungna Islet.

Only the top single player from each province took part in the tournament, regardless of their weights and ages.

Ri Kyong Hun from Kangwon Province, who came first in the tournament, left a deep impression on the spectators as he is a ２１-year-old collegiate.

Ri started learning the basics of Korean wrestling ten years ago.

Since then, he hasn’t stopped training for a single day.

At first, his parents worried lest it would have a negative influence on their son’s growth and studies.

However, he got sturdy and highly concentrative, which led to good results in his studies.

According to his opinion, Korean wrestling has diverse technical skills for training swiftness and, at the same time, helps improving the physique and intelligence as it requires prompt decisions for different circumstances.

Kang Song Gun from Jagang Province who took the second place also drew people’s attention.

The ordinary farmer from Rangnim County became an excellent Korean wrestler, famous not only in the county and province but also in the country.

He became stronger in the course of training the skills of Korean wrestling while working and distinguished himself as an innovator taking the lead in every undertaking.

He feels great pride and delight in learning the skills one by one while concentrating on his work.

Not only them but also all other participants were unanimous in saying that the Korean wrestling full of national resourcefulness is a mass-based sports game whose promotion leads to optimistic life and success in work.

It was the unusual pride of Korean wrestling fans to add luster to our tradition, build up their minds and bodies strong and make greater achievements in their work.
