Under his guidance of ushering in a heyday of educational development with the most ennobling outlook on posterity and the future and far-sighted acumen and outstanding leadership, the universal １２-year compulsory education has been enforced and a marked progress made in the work for turning ours into a country of education and talents.
During the ８th term of the Party Central Committee, unprecedented changes and progress were made in education and our education was put on a new track of development thanks to his energetic leadership.
The respected General Secretary put forth fresh and original policies on renovating the structure, content and method of education, which served as the fighting goal and seed of development for our education.
His energetic leadership for consolidating the material and technical foundations of education has also led to brilliant results.
In ２０２４ alone, ３４０-odd schools, ７８０-odd branch schools and １５０-odd kindergartens across the country were newly built or remodeled on a standard level and, in ２０２５, Jonjin Higher Middle School in Rangnang District, an integrated school, and lots of other educational establishments were completed.
The Law of the DPRK on Supporting Education was adopted and, consequently, lots of people turned out in supporting the education, regarding it as the sacred obligation and patriotic duty of citizens.
Education of the rising generations was most prioritized in any conditions and circumstances and progressed nonstop.
It is so touching to recollect that temporary classrooms were arranged at the April ２５ Hostel in Pyongyang for students in the flood-afflicted area, teaching tools, school uniforms and other school things were provided to them and temporary itinerant education team was organized involving excellent teachers and kindergarten teachers of the city.
At the １５th National Conference of Teachers, the respected General Secretary noted that, at present, our education sector is going through a very responsible and critical stage.
He also declared proudly that, from this year our education, based on the success achieved in the course of implementing the first universal １２-year compulsory education programme, is implementing the second programme, and the higher education sector has definitely entered a stage of evolution, different from the previous ones.
This is the precious fruition of the wise guidance of the respected General Secretary who set it as the core task for comprehensive socialist development to put our education on a world advanced level at an early date and energetically led its implementation.

Many undertakings are being carried out in wide realms and lots of them require a great deal of effort. However, our Party and state are unshakable in their will to make unsparing efforts and show devotion to lead the progress of education.
