Story Conveyed by Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum stands at the foot of the scenic time-honored Mt Taesong, boasting of its modern beauty.

Here, we can hear touching stories about the lofty intention of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un to make our people powerful beings possessed of versatile knowledge and the efforts he made to this end.

One day in May 2016, the respected General Secretary visited the Natural History Museum nearing completion.

He looked for any imperfections in the base for cultural and emotional life to be frequented by lots of people and pointed out to describe the characteristic of the museum in a formative and artistic way by harmonizing artificial grass and ivies.

He also taught about the issue of reforming the entrance so that the building could intuitively show what it was and gave attentive instructions as to reinstalling ornamental flowerpot stands in the building in a natural way.

That day, he told the officials that it was so good to have the natural history museum built, that it was a base for disseminating and educating general knowledge about animals and plants and that it could be likened to a textbook.

Listening to him, the officials recalled the days when the preparations for the construction of the museum was under way.

Then and there, the respected General Secretary, who was giving important instructions as for the construction, taught the officials that the museum could be likened to a textbook which was used by all the people in the country.

Though it is a source of knowledge for the people, a real textbook wears out when people use it. Such is not the case for a museum. So it is necessary to arrange educational bases for giving comprehensive knowledge like museums well, he taught.

The officials also recollected the numerous instructions he gave on many occasions concerning the construction of the museum.

The officials keenly felt that they couldn’t neglect any details of the building as the museum was imbued with such great pains and efforts of the respected General Secretary.

That day, he taught to arrange the museum better on the principle of scientific accuracy, practicality and hospitality.

Before departure, the respected General Secretary taught that the Natural History Museum is a national treasure and that another precious treasure was created in our country.

Thanks to the lofty intention of him that all the creations for the country should be excellent wealth guaranteeing the greater happiness and brighter future of the country, such a dazzling monumental edifice to be handed down through generations as a national treasure was built.

Today, all the explanations and various exhibits of the museum provide the visitors with rich knowledge like the lines in a text and visual aids.
