Always Keeping Autograph of That Day

Our country is witnessing vibrant reality of a new stage of educational revolution aimed at turning ours into a country with the most developed education in the world under the Party’s original idea of attaching importance to education and its wise guidance.

Whenever I feel pride in being an educator, standing in the van of this dynamic trend of the times, I call to my mind the great glory and happiness I was granted over ten years ago from now.

It was when I received the congratulatory speech the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made at the joint national meeting of the Korean Children’s Union organizations celebrating the 66th founding anniversary of the KCU that I decided to devote my whole life to upholding the Party’s educational policy.

Listening to him, who taught that our Party wants teachers to value and love our dear KCU members sincerely and serve as roots bringing up their talents and leading them right just as the instructors of the Children’s Corps did during the anti-Japanese war days, I hardened my will to spend my lifetime at the sacred platform of teaching.

Then, during a lecture before the graduation from university, my teacher told us in an upset voice that remote mountain village schools in our province were suffering from lack of able teachers.

At that time, I decided to start my career in education there.

After making up my mind, I, a girl student at that time, personally wrote a letter to the respected General Secretary out of an impulse to inform him of my humble decision.

I wrote in the letter that I volunteered to work in Taehung County, one of mountainous counties in South Phyongan Province in order to add joy to the country and that I will keep the education post my entire life to train the students in mountainous villages into pillars and masters of the country.

However, I couldn’t imagine that the respected General Secretary, though he was so busy with all the state affairs, personally read my letter and sent an autograph letter of benevolence to me.

On the day when I received the autograph of agreeing with my decision and telling me to write another letter to him when my students play a big role, I was too happy and excited to get to sleep.

The care and benevolence of the Party for me, who took the first step as a teacher with the warm love and great trust, only grew.

The respected General Secretary called me to meaningful conferences and celebrations to have a souvenir photo taken and bestowed high state commendations on me.

Under such endless love, I grew up to be an official in charge of work of an education unit.

When my students wrote a letter of loyalty to the respected General Secretary and volunteered to stand at the frontline border posts and whenever our school makes achievements in education, people ask me if it’s time to write another letter to the respected General Secretary.

However, I tell them that I hardly deserve to do so because what I have done is so minor as compared with the indescribable love and care and great trust bestowed on me.

I still recollect the autograph writing full of trust both in times of delight and hardship.

I will keep it as the most precious treasure and train strong pillars of the country, thereby exalting the honor of a career revolutionary.
