Literary Persons and Artistes Who Left Clear Traces in History of Juche-oriented Art and Literature

Master of Revolutionary Film Creation Ri Jong Sun

Ri Jong Sun wrote many drama and film scripts during his lifetime including that of feature film "Mt Paektu". The revolutionary film "Star of Korea" and its theme song "Song of Comradeship" count among his major works.

One December day in １９６４ Ri Jong Sun met for the first time Chairman Kim Jong Il for whom he yearned so ardently and received his precious instructions. That day the Chairman taught that in order for the literature and art of the working class to fulfil its mission as a powerful weapon for arming the people with the revolutionary idea of the leader and educating them to be loyal to the cause of the leader, it should depict in depth the revolutionary activities of the leader.

Afterwards, the Chairman made sure that Ri Jong Sun conduct the creative activities at an authoritative production unit and took care of his work and life. Thanks to the Chairman’s trust and love Ri Jong Sun grew up as an able talent and creation guidance official unparalleled by any other persons.

The Chairman assigned him to an honourable task to create the revolutionary film script depicting President Kim Il Sung. Ri Jong Sun was all speculating day and night. However, he couldn’t readily put pen to paper.

At that time Ri Jong Sun received the instruction of the Chairman. The Chairman taught that if a film was made well with the song "Star of Korea" as a seed, it would glorify the Sixth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea more significantly.

He wrote the film scripts of Parts １ and ２ of the revolutionary film in a mere short period of ２０ days like a flood bursting its dam. The film scripts of the revolutionary film "Star of Korea" consisting of １０ parts were completed in only two years.

One day the Chairman gave him another task to create the theme song of the revolutionary film "Star of Korea".

He could not repress his creative inspiration.

Endless pride of being the soldier of the great leader and noble spiritual world of the revolutionary forerunners who unhesitatingly chose death to be loyal to the trust of the leader stirred up his feelings.

Thereupon the song "Song of Comradeship" was produced as an eternal theme song of our revolution to represent the sacred history of our revolution which was pioneered and advanced by dint of comradeship.

Once the Chairman recollected Ri Jong Sun and said that Ri Jong Sun was an able writer who wrote the film script of the revolutionary film "Star of Korea" and the words of "Song of Comradeship" and he remains in the memory of our Party with the "Song of Comradeship".

The accomplishments of Ri Jong Sun who greatly contributed to the creation of the literature depicting the leader will remain long in the history of the Juche-oriented art and literature.
