Soil Where Country’s Best Resources Grow

Our country has entered an era of gigantic change when all the ambitions and dreams of the people are turned into brilliant reality.

Many undertakings are being carried out in wide realms and lots of them require a great deal of effort.

Among all the undertakings, our Party and state attach the greatest importance to education and direct unsparing efforts to it.

As our people cherish such a strong ideal and desire for a powerful country and our Party keeps it as the foremost desire to build the best paradise for the people on this land, education for bringing up a large army of excellent talents is regarded as the most important of all the affairs.

We still remember the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un teaching at the opening meeting of the 15th National Conference of Teachers that the value of education, the soil where the country’s best resources grow and the motive force of national development, cannot be measured in terms of money.

His instruction bears a precious truth that the best of the country’s resources is none other than talents, that talents can be trained only by excellent education, the most important of all the affairs.

It is the steadfast will of our Party to make ours the world’s best education which all other peoples admire and want to receive and which can help to dynamically lead the efforts to achieve the national prosperity.

As is shown by the long history of the Korean revolution, our country has covered a glorious history and exalts the prestige and might thanks to the Party’s consistent policy of giving importance to education and the advantageous socialist education system.

Our education has trained and put forward the rising generation into powerful forces that cherish the revolutionary ideology and spirit of patriotism which remain unchanged even with the passage of time and that are possessed of noble ethics and morality and comprehensive knowledge. Its baton should be firmly carried forward in the future, too.

Now is high time that our educators trained more of revolutionary talents able to display vehement activities in theaters of campaign for the prosperity of the country and thereby discharged their responsibilities and role as the designers and builders for the long-term development of the country and the revolution and the driving force of the educational revolution.

From this year our education, based on the success achieved in the course of implementing the first universal 12-year compulsory education programme, is implementing the second programme, and the higher education sector has definitely entered a stage of evolution, different from the previous ones.

We have so far laid the foundation to attain the goal we set for placing our education in the front rank of the world. From now on, we should produce the definite fruit to present the clear full picture of the most advanced and excellent education, and surely succeed in the educational revolution in the new era which we launched with determination for the future of the country and the revolution.

When all the educators rise up with constant awareness of the heavy responsibility they have assumed before the country and the people and all our schools train all the students of new generations to be faithful and kind-hearted persons who will become the pillars of the country and a source of pride of their families, our education will make clearer its position and features as the soil where the country’s best resources grow and the motive force of national development and emerge proudly as the world’s first-class education that conforms to the dignity and prestige of a great powerful country.
