Members of DIU Live Forever in History of Our Sacred Revolution

A century has passed since the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) was formed.

Much water has flowed under the bridge and our revolution has covered such a long path.

However, the vanguard fighters of the DIU who pioneered the course of Korean revolution with boundless loyalty to President Kim Il Sung still stand in the van of the advancing ranks.

The tradition of the DIU is a tradition of unity and the endless loyalty to the leader cherished by its members is a paragon from which we should learn down through generations.

The President was in his teens when he formed the DIU.

However, Kim Hyok, Cha Kwang Su, Choe Chang Gol and other members of the DIU became convinced of the bright prospect of Korean revolution from the outstanding personality of the President and held him in high esteem and firmly safeguarded him with their immovable faith and noble revolutionary obligation.

Cha Kwang Su handed out silk cloths with red stars on them to the young revolutionaries who were to leave for different regions with new tasks from the President.

He told them that the red star symbolized the President and the white color represented the pureness of their reverence for him.

He appealed to them to fight till the end following the guiding star of revolution, feeling the red-star silk cloth they kept in their breasts however harsh trials they may face on the road of revolution.

At the time when they were active, no one could know when revolution would end in victory.

It was not so easy to put forward the leader of revolution and uphold him without expecting any future fame or honor in such a period.

Their loyalty originated from the fervent reverence for and trust in the leader of the revolution.

When the immortal revolutionary hymn "Star of Korea" was discovered newly tens of years ago, the President heard the song and taught it had been written and composed by Kim Hyok.

Then he recollected with deep emotion about the loyalty of young communists in the period of his revolutionary activities in his early years.

In fact, the President didn’t allow them to sing a song about him when the song was created.

At that time, Kim Hyok, Cha Kwang Su and other fighters of the DIU said they couldn’t accept the request of the President not to sing the song though they had never disobeyed him and widely distributed the revolutionary hymn.

It was none other than the DIU members who created a brilliant model in establishing the revolutionary outlook on the leader and who perfectly realized the ideological oneness of the ranks based on the revolutionary ideology of the leader.

They fought most uncompromisingly and in a principled manner against all the unsound tendencies and elements hindering the unity and cohesion of the ranks.

The first generation of our revolution who shouted at the top of the voices the hurrah for the President even at the last moment of their lives, regarding the loyalty to the leader as their foremost life, defended the unity and cohesion to bequeath it to the next-generation revolutionaries as a precious treasure and greatly contributed to providing deep and solid roots for our Party.

Unity and cohesion based on the purest fidelity to the leader achieved by the DIU fighters!

With this banner of unity, the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners accomplished the historic cause of national liberation following the President with unchangeable revolutionary faith, and our people and service personnel could work miracles and changes that startle the whole world in every period and stage of revolution and construction following the Party.

No strength can check the trend of faith of upholding the leader of revolution alone for generations and ages.

All the people will bring about the grand victory of the cause of the Juche revolution on this land without fail following the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, inheriting the lofty spirit cherished by the DIU fighters.
