Down-with-Imperialism Union Is Root of Our Party
Approaching is the １００th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) which opened up the origin of our glorious revolution.
The programme and principle set by the DIU served as the foundation of the Juche-oriented line and policy of our Party and the idea and spirit of the DIU became the guideline for building and activities of our Party and the communists of new generation trained by the DIU became the backbone of the Party founding.
The historical significance of the DIU lies in that its formation provided the priceless tradition making our Party vigorously advance the cause of Juche revolution along the road of one victory after another.
The formation of the DIU became the starting point of the struggle for building a new revolutionary Party advancing on the basis of principle of independence.
The whole course of our Party building and its activities glorifies as history of defending independence. Our Party has never imitated others in the Party building and activities nor followed anyone implicitly. From the viewpoint that the master of one’s revolution is oneself, we independently built our Party and solved all the problems arising in the party activities in keeping with our country’s situation and interests of our people.
Our Party established Juche to the letter in the revolution and construction opposing flunkeyism and dogmatism and successfully could build the prosperous and dignified country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliance in national defence.
Witnessing today’s reality of a radical turn in hewing out destiny of the country and its people, our people deeply feel the great transformation brought by the ideal of independence proposed by the DIU.
The DIU was a new vanguard organization which provided the tradition of the strongest unity based on one idea and one center.

They were young communists in the new generation who followed the President with the death-defying resolution attracted by his distinguished greatness. Therefore, they bravely fought and devoted themselves to implementing the idea and intention of the leader and kept the faith and obligation of revolutionary soldiers in safeguarding the leader.
It is the great exploit for the history of the Korean revolution that the DIU members opened up a new history of single-hearted unity of the leader and soldiers which was so desired by the Korean revolutionaries and people.
Today our Party is demonstrating its might as the most prestigious and dignified guiding political organization with perfect aspects as Juche-type revolutionary party.
Our Party could achieve the firmest unity and become an invincible party with a strong organization and rigid discipline moving as one as it successfully carried forward the tradition of unity forged by the DIU.
The programme of the DIU became the foundation of the fighting programme of our Party.
The banner of the DIU upheld by the genuine revolutionaries of Korea in the early period of our revolution was to build socialism and communism and its members were revolutionaries who earnestly desired socialism with the spirit of anti-imperialist struggle. So, they volunteered for the sacred struggle to defeat the Japanese imperialists and liberate the country, fought sacrificing their youth and lives and never abandoned their principles even in prison and on the scaffold.
With the approach of the １００th anniversary of the formation of the DIU, all the people in our country are full of revolutionary zeal to steadily carry forward the century-long history of revolutionary cause of Juche which is ever-victorious true to the leadership of the Party.
It is our people’s firm faith and will that the ideal society the vanguard fighters of the DIU pictured in the early period of revolution will be surely built and a new victory of revolution will be achieved earlier when we advance along the road indicated by our Party.
Only victory and glory is in store for our revolution which is successfully inheriting the great history and tradition originated from the DIU.
