Educational Workers and Students in Pyongyang Meet

Educational workers and students in Pyongyang Municipality gathered at Kim Il Sung University on October １９ to vow to carry through the important tasks set forth by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un during his congratulatory visit to the university on the occasion of its ８０th founding anniversary.

Present there were Kim Sung Du, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ri Yong Chol, minister of Education, officials of ministries and national agencies and officials of Party and power organs and officials, teachers, researchers and students of universities in Pyongyang Municipality.

Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, made a report.

He referred to the fact that respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un paid special attention to celebrating the ８０th founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung University with splendor, personally visited the university on its significant founding anniversary and ushered in a giant new era that firmly guarantees the eternal prosperity of our great state with education and science.

In his speech at the celebration, the respected General Secretary comprehensively clarified all the issues arising in developing our education into the one to which we can fully entrust the future of the state and the people, the reporter noted, adding:

His important speech is an immortal, great programme for education as it shows a full and correct picture of the most advanced and excellent education and clarifies the clear path for guaranteeing the bright future of socialist Korea with the brilliant success of the educational revolution in the new era.

The reporter called for giving full play to vigorous courage, exertion and great enthusiasm for the successful implementation of the great education programme in the new era clarified by the respected General Secretary, and thus further glorifying the DPRK as a world-level educational power, sci-tech power and talent power.

Then, Kim Sung Chan, president of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Ho, a faculty dean of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Ho Ju Song, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, and others made resolution-taking speeches.

A resolution was adopted at the meeting.
