National Garment and Footwear Exhibition-2026 Goes On in Splendor
Crowded Exhibition Venue, Increasing Zeal for Visit
The National Garment and Footwear Exhibition-２０２６ which is different in scale, content and form from its last year’s counterpart serves as an important occasion in leading the development of decent and beautiful trend and civilization of our society.
Presented to the current exhibition are seasonal costumes, bags, hats, cloth and various types of fancy items from ２７０-odd units including ministries and national institutions like the Ministry of Light Industry, the Ministry of Regional Industry and the Ponghwa Trade Bureau, and garment factories, footwear factories, bag factories and tailor shops in Pyongyang Municipality and provinces.
On the first floor of the exhibition venue is a section where school uniforms, shoes and bags provided to children under our Party’s benevolent policy and sportswear for students at orphans’ schools are on display.
There is also an area where superior products from the exhibitors are separately displayed.
The display stands of several units like the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory and the Ryuwon Footwear Factory and the display sections of different city and county garment factories which were newly built thanks to the Party’s regional development policy also enliven the atmosphere of the exhibition venue.
The exhibition ground on the second floor displays various kinds of shoes and products of regional garment and cloth production units.
Unlike the preceding exhibitions, this exhibition shows accessories and data of important equipment indicative of the sci-tech successes of the exhibitors.
This further stimulates the zeal for technical exchange and experience swapping among exhibitors, manufacturers and customers.
The unique style of display of products and different garment and shoes designs also draw public gaze.
The visitors to the exhibition are surprised at the products which are growing higher in quality and diversified with each passing day and at the exhibition venue getting more and more wonderful year by year.

The display stand of the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory familiar with our people along with "Maebongsan"-brand is enlivened by lots of people visiting it.
The factory newly developed lots of kinds of shoes including hemp shoes, medical shoes and riding boots and exhibited them.
An official of the factory proudly said that the factory used to produce only several varieties of shoes until １０-odd years before but now it has been wonderfully turned into a model of the country’s shoe-making industry under the care of the Party to massively turn out numerous kinds of shoes favored by people.
The Pyongyang Leather Shoes Factory exhibited lots of new products of "Nalgae"-brand.
High-quality garments displayed at the exhibition, which are diverse in terms of variety and style, are also popular among people.
The Unha Trade Bureau and the Pyongyang Municipal Garment Industry Management Bureau exhibited lots of seasonal clothes suited to our people’s tastes and those clothes are drawing the visitors’ attention for their beautiful and diverse colors and styles.
Exhibited are also elegant leather goods.
The display stand of "Choljuk"-trademarked hosiery and different bags also arouse the admiration of people.

Everyone Marvels at Regional Products
Participating in the exhibition are also those garment factories in cities and counties which were newly built as a result of the successful implementation of the Regional Development ２０×１０ Policy.
In front of the display stand, people wonder at goods displayed there doubting whether those goods were really made by regional-industry factories.
The Songchon County Garment Factory exhibited tens of kinds of garments including silk pyjamas and underwear.
Querying whether those nice clothes were really produced in regional-industry factories, a man living in Hwasong District expressed admiration for the goods, saying that he used to visit regional areas on business very often until a few years before and did little expect that such wonderful goods would be produced in regional areas.
People’s praises also rang out from the display stand of the Jangyon County Garment Factory which was inaugurated a year ago.
A woman living in Puksae-dong, Moranbong District, said that the padded clothes and suits of the factory were made so nicely that it is difficult to distinguish between the goods of the capital city and those of regional areas.
Sales are increasing and order services are rendered actively at the display stands of the garment factories in cities and counties built thanks to the benevolence of the Party.
An official of the Yomju County Garment Factory said full of pride that an elderly man who had bought padded clothes on the first day of the exhibition brought all his family to the exhibition to order jumper the next day and that sales have quadrupled compared to that on the first day.
Nowadays the factory is waging urgent production campaign to supply orders and the goods are transported to the venue of the exhibition as soon as they are produced.
Employees of light-industry factories in different regions are replete with the determination to produce more garments which can compete with capital goods and represent their villages in future by giving ear to people’s voices and directing greater efforts to the development of new products.
The National Garment and Footwear Exhibition-２０２６ going on in splendor adds much to people’s joy, powerfully demonstrating our light industry’s rapid development achieved under the guidance of the motherly Party.
