Phungsan (National Dog) Show-2026

Shortly ago, the Phungsan (DPRK’s national dog) show-２０２６ was held at the Zoology Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences of the DPRK amid great interests and expectation of experts and fans.

The show was aimed at increasing the number of purebred Phungsan by correctly conducting the registration, examination and evaluation of purebred Phungsan and disseminating sci-tech knowledge about the standard shape of the national dog and its ecological features.

Tens of superior Phungsan dogs selected from across the country were presented to the show, adding to the people’s joy.

Doctor O Song Il, section chief of the Zoology Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, said that the show participated by lots of more fans as compared with the past was going to subdivide all the appraisals including appraisal of the appearances, lineage and special skills in a more scientific way and strictly carry out them.

As soon as the appraisal began, the dogs fully displayed their dignity and skills under the command of the owners, evoking admiration of people.

Body color as white as our people’s gem-pure mind, sharp eyes, elastic yet robust build, valiant and bold spirit…

Seeing the clever and valiant looks of the dogs, the participants were full of eagerness to bring up the national dog well and take part in the next show for sure.

The Phungsan dogs will be settled in the life of our people more intimately thanks to their noble sense of patriotism for holding dear our national symbols and adding eternal brilliance to them.
