In the grim days of the Fatherland Liberation War, President Kim Il Sung’s loving care for and great trust in the People’s Army soldiers encouraged them in displaying the indomitable spirit in every battle.

The history of victory in the war tells many touching stories like the facts that the President personally wore padded shoes in sultry summer days to examine the paddy shoes to be supplied to the soldiers, and he took measures for operating front-line rest homes for servicepersons who were fighting on the frontline.

Among those stories is the story of a special rescue operation for saving a hero’s family organized by the President.

One late night in Nov. Juche 40(1951), the President was informed of a hero soldier’s family.

Then, the hero soldier’s family was living in a village 20-odd ri away from his defence position; there, a battalion of the puppet ROK army was committing atrocities.

Being informed of it, the President ordered an officer to rescue the soldier’s family.

Indicating the meticulous ways to rescue his family, the President stressed that not only his family members but also all their household belongings had to be taken from the village.

And he continued that the aged persons treasure their farm tools even though they are old and all the household belongings should be taken from their dwelling without anything left.

Thus, the special rescue operation unprecedented in the world history of war was carried out.

Indeed, the loving care of the President for the People’s Army soldiers led them to defend the motherland at the cost of their blood shouting "Long Live General Kim Il Sung!"
